Excursion to Werribee Open Range Zoo

Students’ Reflections: Excursion to Werribee Open Range Zoo

On the second of August, Ms. Hanan took the year eights to Werribee Open Range Zoo. All of us students had the time of our lives, because most of us saw many animals for the first time, such as the camels, Mongolian horses, flamingos and cheetahs. The highlight of the excursion was when we went aboard on the safari bus. That was when we got a very close view of all the animals. While we were on the bus, there was a man commentating the entire time with entertaining facts based on the animals we were looking at. My favourite animal that I saw was the meerkat because they look so cute. Overall, this excursion was really interesting and I had no idea that I would learn so much. I’d like to thank all the teachers including Ms. Hanan, Ms. Nagwa, Ms. Zuleykha, and Ms. Nergis because if it wasn’t for them, we wouldn’t have had such a good time. [Year 8C student]

On the 2nd of August, the year eights went to Werribee Open Range Zoo. It was our first excursion this year, so everyone was very excited. In my opinion, the bus ride was the best part of the whole trip. The teachers that accompanied us were Ms. Hanan, Ms. Zuleyha, Ms. Nagwa and Ms. Nergis. We saw a lot of animals including lions, gorillas, meerkats, rhinos, hippos, monkeys, giraffes, cheetahs, camels, rabbits, cows, gazelles, zebras, ostriches, Mongolian wild horses, eagles, black kites, hyenas, antelopes and much more. I think that the lion cubs, meerkats and monkeys were the cutest. We also had a tonne of fun at the playground. Our safari bus ride was at 11:00am and it was for quite a lot of time. Before we boarded the bus for returning back to school, we stopped at the souvenir shop. I really enjoyed the trip and a big thank you to all the teachers, especially Ms. Hanan, for organising the excursion. I loved it  [Year 8C Student]
