    Mr Abdurrahman Gokler completed his Bachelor of Science degree in 1987 at La Trobe University, later travelling overseas to acquire religious education. Upon returning to Melbourne in 1991, he began his teaching career at one of the first Islamic colleges in Victoria. He taught Mathematics, Science, Religion and Quran Studies. He took on the leadership position of Religious Studies and Quran Studies coordination for several years at the same school. He also completed Intermediate Arabic at Melbourne University in 1994.

    In 1998, he became the Vice-Principal of Darul Ulum College of Victoria. He is one of the pioneers who played a key role in the establishment of the College; developing administrational policies, educational policies and curriculum documents for submission to attain primary school, junior secondary school and senior secondary (VCE) registrations during the school’s growth and development process.

    Mr Gokler completed his Masters in Education at Melbourne University in 2009, specialising in ‘Evaluation Forms and Approaches’. He was promoted to the role of Principal at Darul Ulum College in 2015. He believes in team work, collaboration and continuous improvement. He is innovative and is always prepared for new challenges. Mr Gokler is passionate about working in partnership with teachers, students and parents in raising faithful, successful and compassionate members of the Australian community.

    Sonia began her teaching journey at Darul Ulum College of Victoria in 2013 after completing a Graduate diploma (Secondary Education) from the Australian Catholic University. She is very passionate about educating and supporting the minds of young students as well as nurturing them and actively working towards helping them reach their full potential.

    Sonia is a strong believer of the idea that every child is a capable learner with unique learning capabilities. She aspires to meet the individual needs of students with her flexible teaching styles in order to allow her students to reach their maximum potential. She believes in creating strong and respectful relationships with her students to ensure they feel safe and supported at every moment of their learning journey.

    Lamis, with a professional social work background, undertook further studies and obtained her Masters in Teaching Early Years. She joined Darul Ulum College of Victoria in 2010, starting as Foundations teacher, then teaching grade 3, 4 and 1. She undertook the position of English and Humanities coordination in 2015 and Y.C.D.I coordination since 2016.

    Lamis believes that the learning of a child is greatly influenced by the thoughts, feelings and attitude of that child. This is why she aims to build a positive rapport with each student, ensuring that all students feel safe, relaxed and happy in class, their temporary home for the majority of their waking hours. She also stresses the importance of parental support and communication with the school in maintaining that child’s positive outlook on life.
