New Construction Site (Extension of Building C – Female Section)

21 June 2017

New Construction Site (Extension of Building C – Female Section)

It is with great pleasure that the College’s administration would like to announce to its community that from the 27th of June 2017, we will be commencing a new construction project on the female section of the College grounds. The new project will offer a wide range of modern facilities to our primary school students and staff. It is an extension and alteration to the existing two storey building (Building C) whereby it will be providing the following amenities:

  • State of the art female reception / office
  • 10 additional classrooms
  • 4 specialised work offices for the leadership team
  • A staff recreational lounge
  • A conference room
  • A speech therapist assistant (STA) room
  • Fully equipped clinic / sick bay
  • A dedicated photocopy room
  • Separate toilet and wudhu facilities for boys and girls

The project design has undergone a vigorous process of review and consultation and one main key feature of this new addition is based on transparency whereby most parts of internal corridor adjacent walls will be glass. The project consists of stages 12 and 13. Stage 12 is partially funded by the Victorian Government under the Victorian Government Capital Funding Program for Non- Governmental schools 2015-2016 to 2018-2019. Stage 13 will be fully funded by the College.

As per the contract agreement with the assigned builder, the construction work will commence on the 27th of June, 2017 and will continue until the end of March, 2018, Insha’Allah.

Safety is our ultimate priority, hence the College is committed to ensure the welfare of all students, staff members, tradesmen and the public. The builder is in the process of carrying out a comprehensive risk assessment and will undertake all reasonable steps to mitigate the risks associated with the construction of the project.

It must be noted that the female campus will mostly be affected by the construction work starting from the Link Parade entrance (Gate A) onwards. However, all necessary demolition work and a designated walkway to enter the female section is scheduled to be completed before the commencement of Term 3.

On behalf of the College’s Management, we do seek your cooperation and collaboration to complete this project in a safe and timely manner as we look forward to this exciting new addition to better serve our community.

Thank you.
